The children have been exploring numbers in depth and learning about sharing. They solved number problems in their own ways and showed their understanding by explaining how they recorded their answers.

The children have enjoyed learning about Chinese New Year. They made Chinese lanterns, copied dragon dances and tried using chop sticks. They used their senses to explore some Chinese ingredients and wrote labels for all the animals in the Chinese New Year story.

This week we decided to make pancakes in Reception. First the children wrote a shopping list on ingredients. Next they listed the equipment we needed and wrote a recipe. The children enjoyed making the pancake mixture, especially cracking the eggs. We all enjoyed eating them and writing about it afterwards.
