 Try these challenges at home!

What do you think our book this week will be about? Who is the author? Who is the main character? What do you think will happen?

 Reception have had lots of fun for British Science Week .  We have been reading the story The Smeds and the Smoos by Julia Donaldson. We needed to blast a rocket up into space for the aliens to get back home.👽 The children predicted how high the "rocket fire" would fly. 🚀 We also completed a germ experiment.  The children had good understanding of germs and why we must always wash our hands before eating and after being outside.  The children enjoyed watching the Cbeebies germ experiment video and then we tried it for ourselves. We have also been learning about minibeasts this week. 🐞🐛 The children went on a minibeast hunt around the school grounds and worked together in pairs to see what they could find.

  Creating Castles Can you make a model of Pearl's Uncle’s castle. How many recycled materials can you use?

  Pearl gives some of her patients medicine. Take a look at these medicine packets. How many pills are left in each pack? How many have been used from each? Can you write a number sentence for each?  Which has the most in?  Which has the least?  Try using objects to help you! Challenge: How many are there altogether? How many full packs can you make?

Listen to the music and move your body in time. What different instruments can you hear?   Medical Maths Watch the video from your teacher and then try the activity below. How many doctors and nurses are there all together? If the doctor used five plasters how many would be left? If the nurse used nine injections how many would be left? Challenge: Can you add the plasters to the needles by counting on with a number line? Can you add the doctors, nurses and ambulances?
