Science Capital - Roofer Visit

  This afternoon Reception had a special visitor. Miss McGill's Dad, who is a roofer came into school to talk to them about his job and how he helps people. The children explored different tools, materials and discussed how builders keep safe.  The children also had the chance to explore using a sprit level.  The children learnt that the bubble must be in the middle section to ensure the building is level. The children had a brilliant time learning about another profession.

WORLD BOOK DAY!

World book day is Thursday the 3rd of March! 🌍 📚 📖 You need to create your very best   HOMEMADE OUTFIT  as a character (or famous object) from a book! We are also having a competition to create the very best   BOOK IN A BOX!!  For your book in a box you need to try and encompass the very essence of your chosen book, this could include objects and characters from the story, or key events!

Amazing Writing!

  The children have produced some beautiful writing in child initiated learning time this week. The children have been so engaged with our ongoing 'Our World' topic.  The children have brought in some images of them and their families around the world.  Some children chose to do some independent writing about where they have been in the world.

Chinese New Year

 Chinese New Year! This week the children have been learning about Chinese New Year-the year of the Tiger! Reception have shown lots of curiosity about the country China and made their own Chinese flags, role played in a Chinese restaurant and made their own Tigers and lanterns.  Also, on Friday the children experienced trying some Chinese noodles and Prawn crackers. They even had sweet chili and Hoisin dips!
