Science Week - Crest Awards

 In March, the children at Iveson Primary completed a range of science experiments and activities. As a result, all children have been awarded with a CREST award and certificate.  CREST  is the British  Science  Association's scheme for STEM project work that inspires young people to think and behave like  scientists  and engineers. Reception were very proud of their certificates and special star badges.  🌟⭐

 In Maths this week, we have been doubling numbers.  Today can you complete some doubles with your grown up? Look at the ladybirds below. Can you double the number? Today can you make your own doubling butterflies or ladybirds? You could also listen to 👉  The Doubles Song

Friday - Writing

 Our book this week is Little Monkey by Manta Altes.  In the story the little monkey has to be brave and showed good resilience.  Resilience means when you keep trying and don't give up.  Can you tell your grown up a time you have had to be brave? Can you think of a time that you needed to keep trying something? Today can you draw a picture of a time you've been brave or needed to try hard? Challenge: Can you write a sentence about this using your phonics?

Maths - Thursday

 In Reception this week we have been learning about numbers between 11 and 20.  Can you watch the video from White Rose Hub Maths? Can you answer the questions and give reasons for each one? Click 👉 here  to watch Session 2 - Ordering Numbers to 20 Activity:  At home, can you make your own number cards from 11-20.  Shuffle them up and then place them in order from smallest to biggest.  Can you tell your grown ups reasons for why you have chosen a certain number? Example of what a child might say: "I know it is 13 next, because 1 more than 12 is 13."
