A busy week in Robin class

The children have had a busy week in Robin class this week. They have been learning the names and properties of 2D shapes in maths, the 'b' and 'f' sounds in phonics and have been retelling the story Stickman by Julia Donaldson. They have also made us so proud with a fantastic Christmas performance. Join us for the next performance at 9:30 am on Monday. Click the link below to play Buried Treasure. Children can practise blending to read real and pseudo words.  Phonics play

All about bread!

Following last weeks visit to the shop, this week the children had a great time baking bread. After looking at recipes they decided to make bread in a bag! They carefully worked together to measure out the ingredients, combine them to make a dough and knead the dough. The children worked hard to knead the dough and waited patiently for it to rise. The children tasted the bread and used their senses to describe its texture, smell, appearence and taste. It tasted delicious! Look at the photos below- more baking photos to follow.

Robins visit to the shop

The children have been busy this week learning about how bread is made,  writing shopping lists and buying their own ingredients for the local shop. We can't wait to bake our own bread next week.

Thank you to all parents and carers who stayed for Readers' Morning last week. The children have loved sharing stories and are showing a real love of reading. All parents, grandparents and carers are welcome to stay and read for pleasure every Wednesday morning.
