  Zog has lots of friends in his class. Can you count how many? What happens if one flies away? Are there  more  or  less ? Try these subtractions... Challenge: Can you write your own number story using dragons and subtraction? You could use toys or objects to help you prove your answers.

  In Year 3 Zog learns to breathe fire Can you breathe fire too? You will need:  •  Scissors  •  Toilet roll tube •  Colourful tissue paper (wrapping paper or painted kitchen/toilet roll also work well!) •  Glue (flour and water can be mixed to make a sticky glue) Steps:  1.  Take your colourful tissue paper and cut it into flame like shapes  2.  Using your glue, stick your tissue paper ‘flames’ to the inside of the toilet roll   3.  Once the glue is dry, hold the toilet roll up to your mouth and breathe as hard as you can to make the flames at the other end move about. Try decorating your fire breather to make it more like a dragon!

  Dragons love to fly! Zog tries very hard to fly and always remembers to practise just like his teacher tells him to. It’s time to be dragons! Can you zoom around like zog? Can you time your flights?  Use a watch/timer or your counting skills to see how long it takes you to travel different distances. Challenge:  Can you try each flight three times and see which is your quickest time for each?
