Posting a letter!

Image
Our literacy focus last week was to write an invitation for a special event... The children have been curious about what happens when you post a letter. We discussed what happens and where they end up. Despite the weather, we had chance to post our letters today into the post box. We even saw post office vans and post men on our way! Parents/ Carers you will be expecting a brown envelope with a special invitation inside. We hope you like them!

Look what we have grown in our garden

The children have been curious to see how our plants have been getting on in our outdoor space. They found the carrots we planted from seeds have grown, they pulled them up and re-planted them with more space to grow. We also found potatoes, raspberries and rhubarb!

Coming up this week

This week the children will be practicing their non-fiction writing skills by writing invitations. We will continue to learn phase 4 phonics and learn more high frequency words. Click here for some phase four flash cards to help your child at home.

Curious learners....

Over the last few weeks the children have been eager to apply their literacy skills whilst retelling the story Whatever Next. They used story props, actions and story maps to support them. All of this has had a positive impact on their writing. The children have also been busy investigating ways in which to represent the number 17.
