Understanding the World - Chinese New Year
This week in Reception, we have been learning all about Chinese New Year. We read the Zodiac Story and spoke about all the different animals that crossed the river. We have also discussed the special traditions within Chinese New Year, including why red is a special colour, what food is eaten and how people celebrate. Within continuous provision the children have created their own Chinese Dragons in the creative area, written cards in the Writing area and have explored representing chinese numerals in the Maths area. 🐲
