What a Wonderful World.

We cant wait to see the children back in Robin class. This half term will be an exciting one focusing on the natural world we live in. We will begin by reading and retelling the story The Very Hungry Caterpillar. We will even watch real caterpillars growing and transforming into butterfiles before our eyes in our class!

In phonics we will begin by revisiting the digraphs (two letters which make one sound)  ai, ee, oa, oo, ar or ur, ow oi and trigraph (three letters which make one souund) igh. We will practise reading and writing words that contain these sounds. Remember to sing along to the Jolly Phonics song - they really help the children to remember them.

Our Maths focus for this half term will be on ordering numbers to twenty, problem solving, reasoning. We will be making use of our fanatastic outdoor space to challenge the children to apply the mathematical skills they have learnt.
