Minibeast Hunters!

This week the children in Reception have loved exploring the outdoor area and taking part in some gardening. The children worked together to transfer soil from one end of the outdoor area to the Mud Kitchen.

Whilst digging, the children found a range of mini-beasts and this sparked a real interest. The next day, the children chose to go on a mini-beast hunt and found a range of insects around the outdoor area. This encouraged great speaking and listening, and the children used some fantastic language to explain their ideas about where they could find the mini-beasts and why.
