Happy New Year!

 Happy New Year to all our children in Reception and their families. 

We are very excited to be back at school and to start our new learning. 

This week in English, our book of the week is Puffin Peter by Petr Horáček. 

We will be learning about all the animals Puffin Peter meets in the story and focusing on
our words of week, which are:

storm, arrived, drifted, horizon

We will be discussing the meaning of these words and how we can use them in sentences.

This week in Maths, our number of the week is 6. 

We will be learning all about the composition of number 6, finding one more and one less, finding the double of 6 and even finding half of 6.

This week in Phonics, our sounds of the week are:

ar (star)

ur (turn)

oo (spoon)

or (storm)

Reminder: Please read with your child 3 times a week and write a comment in their reading diary.
